David Drozek, DO

Dr. Drozek practices, teaches, and is involved in lifestyle medicine research at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio, a rural Appalachian college town. He focuses in providing lifestyle medicine to the underserved and marginalized, and is involved in a long-term research collaborative effort to provide lifestyle medicine to impoverished communities in Lima, Peru. He is active in and a fellow of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, and a diplomat of the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine.

Charles Evans, MD, MPH

Dr. Charles Alexander Evans began his career in Canada as an academic Physiologist (M.Sc., PhD) at the University of Western Ontario. He graduated medical school with an MD in 1984 from the University of Calgary, and did his general practice internship at McMaster University. He practiced in Northern Ontario until 1993, when he moved to Beaumont Texas for better opportunities. He had a thriving Family Practice until he sold it in 2005, and moved to Lufkin, Texas to begin a practice in Family and Integrative Medicine. His practice paradigm evolved, and now he is boarded in Integrative Medicine (2015) and is preparing to sit for his Boards in Lifestyle Medicine in October 2017. He is doing research in association with the Department of Nutrition at Stephan F Austin State University, and feels he is now on the frontlines of a new paradigm in medical delivery, practicing predominantly Lifestyle and Preventive Medicine.

Kerry Graff, MD

Dr. Graff graduated from Cornell University in 1990 with A.B. in Biology. After obtaining her MD degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, she completed a family practice residency program at UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh, PA. She earned her certificate in Plant-based Nutrition from e-Cornell in 2014 and is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Dr. Graff will be taking the inaugural Lifestyle Medicine Board Certification exam in October 2017.

John Kelly, MD, MPH

Dr. Kelly completed his undergraduate studies in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, graduating Summa Cum Laude as a McMurran Scholar. He completed the Dual MD/MPH Degree Program at Loma Linda in Epidemiology with honors. He is trained in Preventive and Lifestyle Medicine, and has done private and government-funded research in Lifestyle Medicine. He was founding President of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, coauthored the 2017 Board Review Course in Lifestyle Medicine, is founding Chair for the Expert Lifestyle Medicine Panel, and serves as adjunct faculty at two medical schools. He currently practices Lifestyle Medicine at the Black Hills Lifestyle Medicine Center in Hermosa, SD, where he has launched a leading-edge LM Fellowship and training programs.

Janani Krishnaswami, MD, MPH

Dr. Krishnaswami is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Preventive Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine, and is the Program Director of Preventive Medicine at University of Texas-RGV. She developed the first ACGME residency program built on Community-Engaged Lifestyle Medicine. She builds health “outside the hospital” with stakeholders and trainees, inspiring lifestyle change via resilience, positivity, and emotional health in Lifestyle Medicine practice. She is a teacher and leader in GME curricular innovation, creating Kaiser Permanente-LA Internal Medicine’s first Community-Engaged elective and serving on a national health policy fellowship steering committee. As a singer, writer, and student of improvisation theater, Dr. Krishnaswami thrives on bringing narrative & empathy-driven medicine (“the story”) into medical education. Dr. Krishnaswami is a proud alumna of the University of Michigan Medical School-Ann Arbor, where she attended as a Dean’s Scholar, and a graduate of the University of California – San Francisco / Kaiser Permanente Internal Medicine & Preventive Medicine Residency Program.

Elizabeth Swenor, DO

Dr. Swenor graduated from Albion College, MI with a Bachelor of Arts with majors in Child Development and Biology. She obtained an Elementary Teaching Certificate and a Master’s degree in Education Administration from Michigan State University. She taught elementary school for several years before attending medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA. She completed her residency in 2000 in Family Medicine in Pittsburg and Harrisburg, PA. She continued her advanced medical education obtaining Advanced Fellowship status from the American College of Anti-Aging Medicine and the Metabolic Medicine Institute in Functional, Regenerative, and Metabolic Medicine. She also has advanced fellowship certifications in Aesthetics Medicine. Dr. Swenor started Metabolic, Functional, Preventive and Lifestyle Medicine educational training during her residency. She has certifications in First Line Therapy-Peronsalized Lifestyle Medicine and is a certified facilitator for the Complete Health Improvement Program. She is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine since 2016 and is board certified in lifestyle medicine.
