Volunteers Needed:

For a conference of this size, the American College of Lifestyle Medicine will need volunteers to assist before and during the Conference. To thank our volunteers for working over the course of the Conference (September 30 – October 3, 2012), we would like to welcome volunteers to attend Conference sessions and to network with Conference attendees at any time you are not scheduled to volunteer. This is a great way for interested volunteers to learn more about ACLM and lifestyle medicine practice.

If you are interested in volunteering and are available for part of or all of the Conference please contact Lisa Gregory, Conference Event Manager, email: lisa@gregoryevents.com, phone: 503-459-8678. The volunteer deadline is August 31, 2012.

Selected volunteers will be eligible for registration discounts. Discount percentages will vary based on number of days volunteered, number of hours and category of registration. Discounts are not guaranteed and should not be taken into consideration when registering for the event unless pre-approved by the Conference Event Manager. Volunteers may receive CME credits for sessions attended as registered attendees only; CME fees are not discounted for volunteers.

Listed below are our volunteering needs:
  • Registration / Info Desk – Meet and welcome conferees and distribute conference registration materials. Provide general information about ACLM and the conference to attendees.
  • Greeter and Session Monitor – Assist staff members and speakers with conference plenary or breakout sessions. Disperse handouts, greet attendees, sit-in and monitor sessions, count attendees in each session, distribute microphone during Q&A (question and answer), communicate with conference event manager on session wrap-up time and other session needs. Note: You are expected to assist before, during and after your assigned sessions; your assignment is finished when your assigned sessions have concluded.
  • General Volunteer - assist with various tasks from preparing conference registration materials to assisting specific staff members to filling in volunteer roles on the spot when needed.
Volunteer Commitment:

Volunteers agree to complete their entire volunteer commitment during the conference. In exchange you may attend the conference program for a reduced registration fee (determined by ACLM). Individuals who register as volunteers but who do not attend the conference or fulfill their volunteer assignment may not be eligible for a refund of their registration fee.

Volunteers will be responsible for all hotel room, transportation and food expenses incurred in traveling to and from the conference. Conference meals will be provided based on your volunteer roll. Please discuss your meal eligibility with the Conference Event Manager prior to the event.

Apply to be a Volunteer:
  • Contact Lisa Gregory, Conference Event Manager, lisa@gregoryevents.com.
Once your availability is reviewed we will notify you by email regarding acceptance and provide you with your scheduled. If accepted as a volunteer, we will notify you of your registration discount. Please be sure of your availability before accepting a volunteer assignment.
